Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I am excited to begin this year with you and your child here at Cornell Elementary.

It is very important to me that your children come together as a community of learners.  Therefore, we will be spending a lot of time over the next few weeks getting to know each other, learning the importance of respect, and valuing others ideas. Our three main core values we focus on are being respectful, responsible, and ready.  Continuous success in those three areas will lead to a successful academic year.

In addition, Cornell is still a technology beacon. Our building has and will continue to build on its state of the art infusion of technology.  Every classroom is fully equipped with iPads, laptops, Smartboard technology, state of the art resources, and additions on the way. Our students participate in extensive technology activities and experiences to become future leaders in the 21^st Century.

Some communication tools we are using in technology are Class Dojo and Remind Apps. If you are not already connected to your teacher’s site, please shoot them an email.  This is a great way to get clips of what your child does here at school as well as a communication tool on their successes and struggles.

We will be returning with masks on, both on the bus and in the classroom, for students and staff.  Mask breaks will be given at the teacher’s direction.  Frequent sanitizing will still take place, and we will be doing all we can for our social distancing efforts to maintain at least 3ft. between each student as much as possible.

You will find that the entire Cornell faculty and staff are ready and prepared to teach, lead, and challenge your child as they grow through another school year.  I hope that you and your child are excited and ready for the beginning of this new and inspiring school year.
